The Steel Horse Rally Inc.: Making a positive impact: Presenting Donations to 5 Deserving Local Charities

The Steel Horse Rally is an annual charity motorcycle rally that honors "all who serve" including military, veterans, law enforcement and first responders and is dedicated to helping local charities. Thanks to the success of the 2016 rally, The Steel Horse Rally Inc. which is a non-profit charity organization, is increasing the amount of donations and increasing the number of local charities benefiting from the event. This year, the Steel Horse Rally Inc. has made donations to five local charities:

  • The Gregory Kistler Treatment Center
  • Earthbound Angels Inc.
  • The Fort Smith Museum of History
  • Hannah House
  • The Children's Emergency Shelter Independent Living Program.

The Steel Horse Rally Inc. recently presented donations in the amount of $2,000 to each of these five charities. In addition to $10,000 in monetary donations to these five charities, the Steel Horse Rally Inc. donated booth space at the 2016 Steel Horse Rally to military and veterans support organizations and local charities, giving them a unique opportunity to share the work that they do in the community. Charities are selected by the Steel Horse Rally Board of Directors after completing a charity application. Applications for the 2017 Steel Horse Rally will be available soon. For more information about how you or your business or organization can get involved in the 2017 Steel Horse Rally, please e-mail info@TheSteelHorseRally.com The 3rd Annual Steel Horse Rally will be May 5-6, 2017.

2016 Steel Horse Rally has economic impact of $8 Million

FORT SMITH (KFSM) — A rainy start to the weekend of the Steel Horse Rally had little effect on the economic boom it brought to the River Valley.
The two-day event consisted of 25,000 bikes and 37,500 total people attending.
Steel Horse Rally staff estimated an $8.3 million economic impact from the weekend, a 95 percent increase from what it achieved in 2015.
The Fort Smith Chamber of Commerce was not available for comment on its official estimate of the bike rally’s economic impact.
The 3rd Annual Steel Horse Rally will be May 5-6, 2017.
