The Steel Horse Strongman Showdown is one of the newest addition to the Steel Horse Rally and will take place on the stage at the Glass Pavilion at the 2024 Steel Horse Rally On Saturday, May 4th, 2024. Come watch this incredible event that is a blast to watch as competitors battle in head-to-head competitions! The Iron Warehouse in Fort Smith along with the Steel Horse Rally are proud to present this Strongman Corporation sanctioned event. The event is free to watch. The competition will include 4 parts:

1. Axle and Circus Dumbbell Clean Medley (for time)

(Axle weighs 110 to 275 lbs. and Circus Dumbbell weighs 60 to 170 lbs. depending on class)

 The athlete will be given a 60 second time limit to lift the axle from the ground to overhead for 2 reps and then the Circus Dumbbell for 3 reps.

2. Husafell Max distance carry in 60 seconds

(The Husafell implement weighs 150 to 340 libs., depending on class)

The athlete will start with hands off the Husafell implement and at the judges go will pick the Husafell and carry for max distance in 60 seconds. The athlete will be walking on a 40 foot course.

3. Four Keg Load into Car; Deadlift Frame (fastest time)

(The weight of kegs range from 100 to 325 lbs. each, depending on class)

Athletes will start at the lightest Keg. Kegs will be lined up from the lightest keg being farthest from the car frame to heaviest keg being closest to the frame. The athlete will load lightest to heaviest kegs and will load them one at a time. After loading the first keg, the athlete will pull 1 rep on car deadlift frame. Then move to 2nd keg and load and pull one rep on car deadlift frame. Athlete will continue through the rest of the kegs until final keg has been loaded and a rep has been pulled on the car deadlift frame. There is a 60 second time limit.

4. Thor’s Hammer Hold (longest time) 

(Thor's Hammer weighs 25 to 50 lbs., depending on class)

Athletes will start with their hands on the Thor’s Hammer. Athlete with stand with back against post. Time will start when Athlete’s arms are perpendicular to the ground.
