Will this year's rally be different from rallies in the past?
Here is an answer from Steel Horse Rally President Dennis Snow:
"The 2021 Steel Horse Rally thunders into Fort Smith, Arkansas this weekend (May 7-8.)
To say that 2020 was a tough year and a challenge for us all would be a massive understatement! 2 short months ago we weren't sure that we were even going to be allowed to have this year's event. We submitted an extensive and detailed plan to the State of Arkansas (which was approved,) as well as to the City of Fort Smith (which was also approved.) This plan outlined several safety precautions that MUST be enforced to proceed with an event of this size. The rally must have permits from state and local authorities to become a reality. For the safety of all rally volunteers, staff, you, and those attending the rally for 2021, there will be NO
sidewalk or street vendors allowed.
"ALL vendors must be approved and have the appropriate paperwork to be part of the 2021 rally.
The state health department will be at the 2021 Steel Horse Rally in full force and will make sure we are operating within the guidelines. The state restrictions for masks has been relaxed, but when in a large crowd of strangers, it is highly recommended that you wear a mask and socially distance when possible. I don't like this any more than anyone else, but your safety and well-being is paramount. We want you to come experience the sights and sounds of the 2021 Steel Horse Rally, but mostly importantly, we want you to be safe and enjoy the rally for years to come. So please..."Be Smart...Be safe...Be alive."
We thank you for your incredible support of the past rallies and look forward to seeing you for the 2021 Steel Horse Rally May 7-8.
