Welcome to the 2021 Steel Horse Rally!

We are genuinely excited to see the return of this year’s event that is “dedicated to all who serve.” 2020 was a difficult year as we all dealt with tremendous challenges. We understand that the Covid-19 virus is still part of our lives and this year we encourage you to “Be Smart. Be Safe. Be Alive.” Please exercise personal safety precautions as you enjoy this year’s rally, so you can enjoy the rally for years to come.

The Steel Horse Rally continues its tradition of new events with the addition of “Cops and Cones” Saturday morning May 8th at 11th & Garrison in downtown Fort Smith. This free family-friendly event will showcase Arkansas law enforcement motorcycle units exhibiting their precision riding skills. This year’s main entertainment will be on the stage at the First National Bank Parking Lot at 601 Garrison Ave. along with the Steel Horse Rally Handle Bar.

This year’s event will be the largest to use the new Entertainment District Ordinance, which will allow those of you 21 years old and older to walk throughout the Steel Horse Rally, up and down Garrison Ave. with an adult beverage. To do so, you will need the official Steel Horse Rally Charity Cup and armband, available for a charitable donation of $5 at the Handle Bar and in the Steel Horse Rally Information Tent in the 800 block of Garrison, and in participating bars and restaurants in the downtown area. 100 percent of the donations raised from the cups will go directly to the four local charities of the 2021 Steel Horse Rally: The Buddy Smith Veterans Home, the Fort Smith Museum of History, Antioch for Youth and Family, and the Children’s Service League.

This year’s rally sees the return of the growing tradition of the Thunder through the Valley Motorcycle Parade. Once again, the parade will stage at 3 p.m. at Riverfront Park/Harry E. Kelley Park at 121 Riverfront Drive, Fort Smith. Kickstands go up at 4 p.m. This year’s parade will be led not only by the Fort Smith Police Department Motorcycle Unit, but all law enforcement motorcycle units attending for the Cops and Cones Motorcycle Exhibition. The parade culminates on Garrison Ave. as we ride under a the huge American flag proudly displayed by the Fort Smith Fire Department.

Friday night, May 7th sees the return of the Steel Horse Shootout at Tri-State Speedway in Pocola, OK. This event features riders from all over the United States competing in both the professional and amateur classes. Gates open at 5 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at the gate for $10.

We welcome all riders to Fort Smith, Arkansas and we encourage you to ride and experience the world class roads surrounding the area. Scenic roads like the Pig Trail and Mt. Magazine. Once again this year we will feature an organized ride on Friday morning, May 7th with the Public Guardians and on Saturday Morning, May 8th with the Fraternal Order of Police. Information on these rides and all of the information you need for the 2021 Steel Horse Rally is available at the official webpage, www.TheSteelHorseRally.com

The Steel Horse Rally would not be possible without our incredible core of volunteers and our supporting sponsors. They are the fuel that has kept the Steel Horse Rally on the road over the past six years. We thank them all for their tireless energy and continued commitment to the Steel Horse Rally.

Although we were unable to have the 2020 Steel Horse Rally, we do have a few limited edition Steel Horse Rally items available along with 2021 items at the Official Steel Horse Rally booth located in Vendor Village (the 2nd tent from Garrison Avenue underneath the big mural in the 800 block of Garrison Ave.). Anything you need, from Very Important Biker check-in to official Steel Horse Rally seamless bandannas and hats are available at the Steel Horse Rally tent.

Please enjoy the experience of the 2021 Steel Horse Rally and mark your calendars for May 6-7, 2022 for next year’s Steel Horse Rally.
