Helping local charities

The Steel Horse Rally Inc. is a non-profit charity with the mission of helping local charities and organizations that benefit children, veterans and/or the local community. Each year, local charities are given the opportunity to apply to be recipients of donations raised at the upcoming Steel Horse Rally. The Steel Horse Rally Inc. helps raise thousands in donations for local charities and charitable organizations. The SHR Inc. has also donated food, supplies, and volunteer time to several local charities and gives organizations a unique opportunity for charities to interact with the community during SHR events.  December 31st, 2022 was the deadline for applications for charities and charitable organizations wanting to apply to benefit from donations raised at 2023 Steel Horse Rally and to apply for informational booth space donated by the Steel Horse Rally Inc. The Steel Horse Rally Board of Directors selected several local charities to benefit from donations raised at the 2023 Steel Horse Rally. To make a charitable donation, click here.

 

Buddy Smith Home for Veterans

The Buddy Smith House for Veterans is a two-story, 5,053-square foot home that provides supportive housing and a lifestyles program to help veterans. In addition to providing affordable housing, the Buddy Smith House for Veterans provides access to health care referrals, skills training, counseling, and helps find supportive employment for the disabled. Ten bedrooms are dedicated to military veterans with coordinated case management through the Veteran's Administration. It was named in honor of the late Ralph T. “Buddy” Smith who served in the Pacific through the Army Air Corps.

The Children’s Service League

The Children’s Service League has served the Fort Smith community for more than 80 years, providing clothing and hygiene products to needy students. The Children’s Service League works closely with the Fort Smith School District to give students in need the opportunity to choose clothing items they need. Donations help provide clothing, shoes, and personal hygiene products for students. The distribution of these items is done in a discreet way, giving students a unique opportunity to choose the clothing items that they want to wear.

Antioch for Youth and Family

Antioch for Youth and Family is a non-profit organization that helps local veterans, veterans’ families, seniors, and children in need of food assistance in Western Arkansas. Each month, Antioch serves approximately 30,000 people. Senior and Veterans Mobile Pantries deliver food to low income, elderly, disabled, and struggling families. Whenever possible, fresh produce is provided at the pantry. They also have a Discovery Garden that teaches children about growing food and is part of a seed-to-table farming initiative focuses on family nutrition.  

The Steel Horse Rally Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)3 charity established in 2015 to benefit local charities, honor veterans, military, law enforcement and first responders, and help the local community.
